Hospice of Montgomery offers Patient and Family Education upon admission and throughout the care of each patient.
What We Do
- Educate the patient and family regarding the hospice philosophy, role and services provided
- Teach the family how to provide for the day to day care and needs of the patient
- Provide education related to infection control, safety measures, fall prevention, medication management, administration of medication, and nutritional information
- Educate the family regarding the stages of dying and what they can reasonably expect to happen as the disease progresses
- Provide education related to the grief process and healthy strategies of coping with grief.
A Patient and Family Information booklet will be given to the family upon the patient's admission. The RN or Social Worker will review the information within the booklet such as:

- Administration of Oral, Buccal and Sublingual Medications
- Medication Disposal
- Basic Home Safety and Emergency Preparedness
- Patient Care
- Nutritional Information
