Hopsice of Montgomery

Why HOM?

  • Hospice of Montgomery was the first non-profit hospice in Montgomery, established in 1976 and is a United Way Agency.
  •  Hospice of Montgomery focuses on pain control and symptom management: our goals are on comfort rather than cure.
  • Personalized care is tailored to each patient and his or her family.
  • Individualized patient/family involvement offers each family a greater amount of control over the care that the patient receives.  The patient and family are able to remain together in the comfortable environment of their home, surrounded by friends and loved ones.
  • A Hospice of Montgomery RN is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Hospice of Montgomery provides assistance with confusing insurance and Medicare reimbursement.  Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance companies pay for hospice care.  The insurance is all-inclusive in most cases and Hospice of Montgomery takes care of the paperwork.
  • Hospice of Montgomery RNs teach the caregiver how to care for the patient.
  • Hospice of Montgomery provides medication and durable equipment for the patient at no additional cost to the caregiver (unless private insurance prohibits).
  • Compassionate assistance is there for you at the time of death.  Day or night, at the time of death, an RN comes to the home to notify proper authorities, contact the funeral home, and assist the family as needed.
  • Continuing care and support are provided to the caregiver and family after the death of the patient.  Bereavement counseling is available at no charge for 13 months following the patient's death.
